With its base in Uttarakhand, SFID is always concern about the fragile environment, biodiversity, its Culture and habitats of Himalayan region. With recent Uttarakhand Disaster, SFID was moved by the nature fury and get involved itself in relief and rehabilitation operations in the most effected villages in Rudraprayag district.Our team was among first to start immediate action and issued appeal within and outside our network to come forward and help the victims of Uttarakhand Disaster at this point of time when they lost their nears and dears, animals, farm holdings and their means of livelihood.
Team SFID team reached Guptkashi in very critical climate conditions with broken roads, bridges, buildings and gushing rivers. We reached in the region of Sonprayag along with a team of doctors and organized health camps, distributed relief material and done need based survey for the victims in support with our local network partners.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA): Invited team SFID for its core group meeting and discussed various options and strategic plans with team SFID on Relief and Rehab for Uttarakhand.
